Yoro Valley Autumn Leaves
Best viewing time: end November – early December
If you are staying in Tokyo and want to take a day trip to see autumn leaves, then Yoro Valley is the place to visit. Yoro Valley is a popular sightseeing spot located in the middle of Boso Peninsula. It takes about two hours from Tokyo by coach. It is the latest spot to bloom autumn leaves in the season near Tokyo. Lake Biwa Autumn Leaves
Best viewing time: mid - end November
Lake Biwa and the surrounding area is one of the best autumn-leaf viewing spots in the Kansai Region. Among many viewing spots in the area, Keisoku-ji Temple is a must-visit place. Old stone steps and mossy walls along the temple approach, and red leaves of 200 old maple trees in the precincts all in all remind us of the passage of time and excite our emotions.

Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route Autumn Leaves
Best viewing time: end September – early November
The special feature of Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route autumn foliage is its multicolouredness. Leaves take on not only red or yellow, but also pale or deep green as seen in Chishima Sasa bamboo and Siberian dwarf pine that are rampant there. The colourful autumn leaves are seen panoramically from Daikambo or ropeways to Daikambo. The fantastic view is expected from end September to mid October.

Kamikochi Autumn Leaves

Kamikochi autumn leaves are said to be the best in the Shinshu Region. The highlight is the fantastic scene of vivid red autumn leaves blended with white snow that partly covers Hotaka Mountains early in the season.
